Our Mission

A gap exists between our beliefs and the reality of our mission context. We are determined to close that gap through our church's mission. In order to see our vision become a reality to any degree, we must engage in intentional mission. With this in mind Good Shepherd is called to...

  • Tell the Good News to the poor
  • Tell the prisoners of sin that they are free and to tell the blind that they can see again
  • Free those who have been treated unfairly
  • Announce the time when the Lord will show kindness to his people

These actions characterized Jesus Christ's entire ministry. We as a church, with Christ at our helm, will continue to fulfill that ministry through the power of the Holy Spirit.

(Based upon Isaiah 61: 1 & 2 and Luke 4:18 & 19 New Century Version)

Our Mission Statement In Action

We translate our statement into intentional mission by using it to evaluate everything we do. When we set our current ministries, staff, and facilities against it, can we honestly say that they help us fulfill our mission? Every existing program and ministry must undergo this test, and new priorities must grow out of our vision and be shaped by our mission statement.
