Important Information For Parents
Signing in/out: There will be a sign in/sign out sheet attached to a clipboard for each classroom. You must sign the attendance sheet TWICE each day. In order to help the drop off and dismissal run more smoothly, you will be able to sign your child in/out while waiting outside the classroom each day. All signatures must be LEGIBLE! No abbreviations or scribbling! This is a requirement by the PBC Health Department.
Curriculum: We are using the A Beka curriculum for beginning phonics, letter & number recognition and the Scripture Bites curriculum for Christ-centered bible lessons.
Dropping off: Class begins at 9:30. Please bring your child to the bathroom before bringing them to the classroom. Please be on time as it is a disruption to have children entering the classroom after class has begun. It’s not uncommon for children to cry the first few days, since this is the first time many of them have ever been away from you. Our staff is trained to handle this. The best advice is a quick departure – the longer you stay, the more your child will want you and the longer they will cry. We will notify you if your child is unable to be consoled within a reasonable amount of time.
PLEASE DO NOT LINGER IN THE CLASSROOM.
Due to Health Department regulations, children not registered as students are not allowed in the classroom.
Dismissal: The school day ends at 1:00. Please be prompt in picking up your child. If you are going to be late, contact Tina Intoppa at 965-4311 ext. 242 or Kathy Schloesser ext. 228. If your child hasn’t been picked up by 1:10, you must pick them up from Tina’s office. Late charges apply starting at 1:10.
Snacks: Please label your child’s snack and snack time drink and place them in the snack basket upon arrival. Only 1 snack per child is needed. A few healthy suggestions include: fruit, vegetables, raisins, crackers, pretzels, and cheese sticks.
Lunch: Please pack a healthy lunch for your child. We encourage them to eat their healthiest item first. NO SHARING OF FOOD IS ALLOWED – we have several children with food allergies and special dietary concerns. NO CANDY OR SODA!
**NOTE**: We do not have a microwave or refrigerator available for classroom use, so please pack your child’s snack & lunch accordingly.
Change of clothes: Every student must bring a complete change of clothes that will be kept in the classroom all year, or until needed. We understand that you may not expect your child to need a change of clothes, but they are often needed because of spills or “potty accidents”. Older clothes that your child will not miss are recommended.
Please put the following in a gallon ziploc bag clearly marked with your child’s first and last name:

Underwear
Socks
